Flying military airplanes is a goal I worked towards my whole life and once I actually started Undergraduate Pilot Training at Laughlin AFB in the USAF back in June 2021, I started playing around with watercolor on the weekends as a way to alleviate stress from a long week of training. I was pleasantly surprised to find I actually possess some artistic ability. I started out painting the Texan T-6, the airplane I was flying at the time. I’ve recently started painting animals and flowers but my main muse, my favorite inspirations, are airplanes.

Due to some delays, I’m actually still at Laughlin and I’m still a student pilot although I do have wings now. And I must be absolutely crazy because I decided to start a business while in UPT. Recently, I’ve been commissioned to paint original airplane designs for stationary, stickers and prints on base and it gave me the idea to start a website.

Up until March 2024, I’ve gifted my paintings to friends and coworkers, but in preparation for the Fiesta of Flight Airshow at Laughlin Air Force Base, I decided to order a handful of prints and thousands of stickers of my various watercolor designs and try my hand selling my work.

I am elated to finally be selling my artwork online. I’m starting by offering prints and stickers of my designs but I’m hoping to branch out into stationary in the near future. I will also be accepting custom commissions but these will be limited due to my extensive flying schedule and my ability to paint only on weekends. My hope is to one day flip flop and fly part-time while I paint full-time but for now I am a full-time pilot and part-time artist.
