85th Heritage Tail T-6
Whether you are a military aviator like me, an aircraft aficionado or a child with the coolest airplane themed bedroom, please check out this watercolor print based on the Beechcraft T-6 Texan II. The T-6 is a single-engine turboprop aircraft that replaced the United States Air Force's Cessna T-37B Tweet during the 2010s (see Retro UPT.) The T-6A is used by the United States Air Force for basic pilot training. Every pilot who graduates Undergraduate Pilot Training 2.5 flies the T-6. I myself flew the T-6 when I was earning my wings and it was during my time flying this beauty that I fell in love with painting her. I painted this while at Undergraduate Pilot Training.
The 85th Flying Training Squadron, Laughlin Air Force Base, Texas, along with the 434th FTS, conducts the T-6A Texan II flying training portion of Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training. The 60 instructor pilots of the 85th FTS train over 150 students annually, flying over 26,000 sorties and 35,000 hours. The 85th FTS traces its lineage to the 85th Bomb Squadron which was activated in 1940.
This is a print of the original watercolor printed in America with only top quality materials. These prints are high quality cotton paper on an acid-free, 100% cotton, single-side coated paper showing a natural white finish with a slightly structured, soft-textured surface matte. Every print has a deckled edge (hand torn.) The prints are not signed.
